Pre paid Phone Cards & Calling Cards Tips

  • If your card will expire a certain number of months after first use or transfer of funds, calculate the expiry date     and write it on the card as a reminder.

  • Check whether the access number on the card is a local number before purchase.

  • Consider all charges and weigh up the Negatives and Positives of different charging rates offered by each card based     on the types of calls you make.

  • Double check current rates with the supplier if you are concerned about rate changes. There should be a way to do     this quickly and easily by phone or website.

  • If you make calls after midnight, some cards have special off-peak rates.

  • Some cards offer bonus credits when you buy larger denominations, i.e. get $5 free when you buy $50 card. Bonus     credits give you extra talk time.

  • All cards provide English prompts. However, most of the cards also offer multiple languages. You can check the card     which has your language as an option.

  • When the time on your card is used up, any call in progress will be terminated. Companies are required to     provide an announcement one minute before the card account is depleted to allow you time to wrap up your     conversation before being disconnected.
